Labrador - 'Why Does Nobody Listen' (2004)

Labrador are from Denmark. Their inspiration comes from the classic age of pop. Think of Prefab Sprout, Edwyn Collins, Tahiti 80, Burt Bacharach, Trevor Horn and Lloyd Cole.

Trembling Blue Stars - 'Idyllwild'

Like we are walking through ice and snow...like a girl whose favourite thing is snow.
Snow and being alone...

Boyracer - 'Let Me Hear Your Voice'

As some of you may know, Stewart's and Jen's daughter Tallulah, nearly 3, was recently diagnosed as autistic, which has resulted in a year of intense ups and downs for them.

Cardiacs - 'Is This The Life'

Another classic from the 1980s. Is it really so strange? It's one of my favourites of all times.

Ulrich Schnauss - 'Far Away Trains Passing By'

And here's one of the most interesting German musicians and producers of our times. He is one of the people who put shoegazing back onto the map of pop music.

Two If By Sea - 'Apron Of Flowers'

Two If By Sea is a long distance collaboration between Teresa Daniele (formerly of The Haircuts), Lisle Mitnik (Fireflies / Very Truly Yours) and Kevin Clark (Homeville Circle / Wooden Owls). They have released a wonderful 5-track 7" EP now. A must-have for friends of The Cat's Miaow, The Softies, Hydroplane, Françoise Hardy, Isobel Campbell...

Elefant Records wants to wish you a merry christmas and happy new year!

Still one of my favourite record labels. This video shows some of the best Elefant moments in 2010! The song you hear is 'How Many Days In Forever' performed by Milkyway. Taken from the new Elefant sampler 'Space Escapade.'

Cola Jet Set - 'En esta pista ya no se puede bailar'

Is this real? Now it's already snowing indoors, even in Spain. Funny folks on Elefant Records.

Team Ghost - 'Signs & Wonders'

This song is taken from the new "Celebrate What You Can't See" EP on Sonic Cathedral Records. Team Ghost is a collaboration between Nicolas Fromageau, multi-instrumentalist composer Christophe Guerin and producer Jean-Philippe Talaga. Fromageau was originally one half of M83 on their first two albums.

Tame Impala - 'Solitude Is Bliss'

And now something differnent from Australia. You can call it 60s psychedelia. This great song is taken from Tame Impala's debut album 'InnerSpeaker,' accompanied by a very surrealistic film.

Caitlin Rose - 'Shanghai Cigarettes'

Country music isn't so bad...

The Kabeedies - 'Come Out Of The Blue'

Here the latest single of the wonderful Kabeedies. This song reminds me of some great, jangly 80s indie bands. The Kabeedies have a wide variety of influences such as The Smiths, Blur, Blondie, The Strokes, Devo, and Buddy Holly.

The School - 'All I Wanna Do'

How could I forget this gorgeous band on Elefant Records? Very close, or even better than Camera Obscura.

The Zephyrs - 'Creative Faith'

Their first 7" for Club AC30 Records. The song is more pop than their previous recordings. Enjoy the vid. It has a happy ending.

The Cavalcade debut album 'Many Moons'

The Cavalcade have their debut album out on Pebbles Records, entitled 'Many Moons.' The Cavalcade are an indiepop band from Preston in the north of England, inspired by bands such as Felt, The Clientele and The Field Mice.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - 'Higher Than The Stars'

Their funniest vid so far. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart plus 'Super Furry Animals' - haha. Enjoy it!

The Answering Machine - Oklahoma

The Answering Machine is a great guitar band from Manchester, UK, even though their sound reminds me of The Wombats. It's also a lot of (early) Wedding Present in there. Watch their enjoyable vid here.

The Megaphonic Thrift - Talks Like A Weed King
